Fflecsi Tickets

Coming soon to Rhayader and Newtown is a new demand responsive service called Fflecsi.

The fflecsi bus service is a demand-responsive transport (DRT) initiative run by Transport for Wales (TfW) in partnership with local councils and bus operators. It offers a flexible alternative to traditional bus services, especially in areas where fixed routes may not be viable.

Fflecsi is designed to replace or complement scheduled bus routes but instead of fixed timetables and stops, fflecsi buses pick up and drop off passengers within a designated service area, based on bookings made via the app or on the phone with our friendly bilingual call centre. The service uses technology to dynamically route buses according to passenger demand.

How it works

  1. Book your trip via the fflecsi app or by calling the helpline: 03002 340 300
  2. The system matches passengers with similar routes and calculates a flexible journey.
  3. If booking by the app you can track your bus and receive updates.

Benefits

  • Convenience: Book when you need it.
  • Accessibility: Ideal for rural and underserved areas.
  • Sustainability: Reduces carbon emissions by optimizing routes.
  • Integration: Connects with rail and other bus services.

Fares

  • Standard bus fares apply.
  • Accepts contactless, smartcards, and in some cases cash.
  • Concessionary passes are valid

More details on the Powys service will be available soon. In the meantime, more information on Fflecsi can be found here: fflecsi buses | Transport for Wales
