Net Zero Subgroup: Bringing Sustainability Conversations to Your Doorstep

At the beginning of September, the Net Zero Subgroup, led by tenant representatives, hosted a Chatty Café at an estate in Newtown. This informal pop-up event was all about creating space for tenants to share their thoughts on their homes and the renewable technologies that are shaping a greener future.

Over a cuppa and a slice of cake, tenants had the chance to chat with their reps about insulation, heat pumps, solar panels and the reasons behind energy efficiency upgrades. The aim? To make net zero feel less like a distant target and more like a practical, everyday conversation.

The event was designed to be low-cost and accessible, using a simple gazebo setup and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of these face-to-face discussions, especially for addressing concerns and sharing tips on making the most of renewable systems.

Could the next Chatty Café be near you? Keep an eye out for announcements - the subgroup plans to bring these pop-up sessions to more estates across Powys. It's a great opportunity to meet your tenant reps, ask questions, and learn more about how we're working together towards a sustainable future.
