Llandrindod South by-election to be contested

The contested by-election is taking place to fill the Llandrindod South vacancy following the resignation of Josie Ewing in March.
The election will take place on Thursday, 7 May, 2026.
There are seven candidates standing in the county council by-election. They are:
- John Ball (Reform UK Wales)
- Janet Ruth Barker (Wales Green Party)
- Mark Edward Burton (Welsh Conservative Party)
- Lauren D'Silva (Welsh Liberal Democrats)
- Thomas Owen Duggan (Plaid Cymru)
- Christopher Moore (Independent)
- Paul Smith (Independent)
Anyone who isn't registered to vote have until Monday, 20 April, 2026 in order to vote in this election. To register to vote visit Register to vote - GOV.UK
Electors should take note that applications to vote by post or requests to change or cancel an existing application must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells by 5pm on Tuesday, 21 April, 2026.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April, 2026. Proxy applications can be found at Elections and Voting
