Powys County Council's Youth Service is celebrating the successful renewal of its Bronze Youth Work Quality Mark, recognising the high standard of support provided to young people across the county.

The national award confirms that the service meets strong standards across all areas of practice, highlighting its commitment to delivering safe, inclusive and impactful youth work for young people aged 11 to 25 - directly supporting the council's priorities to improve wellbeing, reduce inequalities and deliver early help and prevention, while contributing to a Stronger, Fairer, Greener Powys.

Assessors praised the service's clear vision, dedicated staff and strong partnerships, as well as the wide range of opportunities available - from youth clubs and outreach work to targeted support for those who need it most.

Young people were placed firmly at the heart of the assessment, with particular recognition of how their voices shape activities and services. Feedback highlighted the positive impact of youth work in building confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.

Cllr Sandra Davies, Cabinet Member for Future Generations, said:

"This is a fantastic achievement for our Youth Service and reflects the dedication and passion of our staff and partners.

"Most importantly, it highlights the positive difference our youth workers make every day in the lives of young people across Powys. By supporting wellbeing, addressing inequalities and providing early help, we are making a real difference and helping to build a stronger, fairer and greener future for our communities.

"My thanks to all our staff and partners who help to provide this fantastic provision for our young people"

The award is valid for three years and reflects the ongoing dedication of staff and partners to providing high-quality youth services across Powys.
