Welshpool Proposal

Scheme: Powys County Council (Various Streets Welshpool) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) Order 2016

Location: Various streets Welshpool, Powys

Description:  Powys County Council is proposing to make a new traffic Order to vary and introduce new waiting and loading restrictions on the county and trunk road network within Welshpool. These modifications are proposed to improve traffic flows through the town, improve highway safety, prevent nuisance parking on footways and carriageways, and standardise on highway waiting times. The proposal does not seek to introduce a residents' on-street parking permit scheme in Welshpool as this policy is still in its trial phase, and is not yet available to roll out to other towns within Powys. The waiting and loading restrictions affecting the trunk roads are being made on behalf of the Welsh Government in their capacity as the trunk road authority.
