Report a dead animal on the road

We will safely remove and dispose of dead animals on the highway.

This includes wild animals like badgers and foxes, as well as domestic pets such as dogs.

By law, if you run over a dog (even if it's not killed), you should stop and report the accident to the police. You must do this within 24 hours.

1. The council has a responsibility to keep the roads and footpaths safe to use. We are responsible for maintaining the roads, pavements and footways of adopted highways throughout Powys.
  
  We inspect our adopted highways on a regular basis. Any area of road or pavement which we think might be an imminent danger to road users or pedestrians is noted and a repair arranged.
