Building materials on the highway

 

If you need to place building materials on any part of the highway, you will need a licence from the Council. These licences are normally provided under the Highways Act section 171.

You can get an application form from us using the contact details on this page. Please complete the form and return it to the area licensing office.

You will be charged a fee for this licence.

You don't normally need a licence if building materials are placed on private land. All materials must be placed on private land whenever possible.

If you need to place building materials on any part of the highway, please apply for a licence.
