Household Recycling Centres are provided for Powys residents to recycle or dispose of their household waste.  Residents are encouraged to use the centres to recycle items which are not currently collected through the weekly kerbside recycling collections.

From 1 April 2025 you must book a time slot to visit any of our Household Recycling Centres. This can be done quickly and easily online or over the phone.

DIY waste charges

From 1 April 2025, if you wish to take DIY waste to any of our Household Recycling Centres, you will need to pay a small charge.

What can be recycled at the Household Recycling Centres?

You can recycle many different items at the Household Recycling Centres, including electrical items, textiles, plastic film, garden waste, etc.

Commercial Vehicle or Trailer (CVT) Permits allow residents to use their commercial type vehicle or trailer to take their household waste and recycling to our Household Recycling Centres.
