Safeguarding in Education

All employees, volunteers, contracted services, providers and adults who have contact with children and young people have a clear responsibility to promote the welfare of children and young people and to take action when they suspect or recognise that a child or young person may be a victim of significant harm or abuse.

What we do

  • Offer advice and support to all Powys schools on safeguarding matters.
  • The team delivers a range of training provision for Designated Senior Person (DSP schools) and Governing Bodies
  • Close working with Childrens Services and Schools
  • Issuing of Licences for Chaperone and Performers
  • Issuing of Child Employment Work Permits   
  • Provide a model safeguarding policy for schools
