SilverCloud

NHS Wales provides free access to SilverCloud®, a range of guided, online self-help programmes to help manage and improve your mental health and wellbeing.

There's support for mild-to-moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, sleep, alcohol, drug use, health anxiety, body image and more for anyone aged 16+ who is a Welsh resident or is registered to a Welsh GP surgery. There is also support for parents or carers to support children and young people with low mood and anxiety.

Anyone aged 16+ can sign up without a GP referral. Choose one programme to complete at your own pace over 12 weeks and access it any time, anywhere on your phone, tablet or desktop. There's no waiting list, and you'll be allocated a trained supporter who will provide fortnightly feedback.

In addition to the 16+ offer, young people aged 11+ in Powys can be referred via the following teams:

  • Powys Teaching Health Board Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS);
  • Powys County Council Education, Youth Service, Youth Intervention Service, Youth Justice, Early Help.

SilverCloud® programmes are available via the NHS in all regions of Wales. The service is managed by Powys Teaching Health Board on behalf of NHS Wales. Please note that this is not a crisis service - you'll be signposted to more appropriate support if SilverCloud does not meet your needs.

Mid and North Powys MIND

Mid and North Powys Mind support young people between the ages of 11 and 25. We operate throughout Mid and North Powys, both on a one-to one support basis and by facilitating peer support groups both in person and online.

We support one to one and referrals can be by way of self-referral, school, professionals or parents/carers, but must be with the young person's consent and knowledge.  Presently we have staff in NPTC Newtown, Llanidloes and Ysgol Calon Cymru Secondary schools.  We work closely with other agencies where this is appropriate and can refer in-house for bereavement counselling and Supported Self Help, which is designed to provide early intervention mental health support, using a range of pre-prepared CBT resources, via a facilitated self-help model.
