'Keeping Healthy in' Powys

The 'Keeping Healthy in Powys' project is a joint initiative between Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of residents across the county.

These free drop-in community events bring together a wide range of local services, organisations, and resources, all in one place, to help people access the support they need to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

At each event, residents can:

  • Find out more about local health and wellbeing services, community initiatives, and support available in their area.
  • Connect with local organisations and professionals offering support, advice, and practical activities across a wide range of areas. You can explore services related to health and wellbeing, early years and family support, falls prevention, sensory and hearing support, community safety, recycling and environmental initiatives, carer and community support, energy efficiency, active lifestyles, housing and independent living, and condition-specific guidance from specialist charities.
  • Take part in interactive activities, enjoy a cuppa, and get a free health check from Powys Teaching Health Board.

The events are open to everyone, from families and carers to older adults and community groups, and offer a friendly, welcoming space to learn more about staying healthy in Powys.

Organisations represented include a mix of health services, emergency services, local charities, housing and energy advice providers, community development teams, and wellbeing projects from across Powys.

If your organisation would like to take part, please get in touch. Participation is free of charge. Email: healthprotection@powys.gov.uk

Join us at an upcoming Keeping Healthy in Powys event and discover the support available to help you, your family, and your community stay healthy and well.
