Support with your household utility bills
Broadband and phone bills:If you are concerned about paying your broadband or mobile phone bill, you should contact your supplier, as they may be able to put a payment plan or other support in place to help you stay connected.
Cold Weather Payments: You may get a Cold Weather Payment if you're getting certain benefits or Support for Mortgage Interest. You'll get a payment if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over seven consecutive days.
Council Tax reductions: If your household is on a low income, you could receive support towards some or all of your Council Tax bill through the Council Tax Reduction Scheme.
Discretionary Assistance Fund: The Discretionary Assistance Fund offers payments, or in kind support, to people needing urgent assistance and where there is an identified need to safeguard health and wellbeing. Payments will be made available to people who have no other means of meeting the immediate cost of living. They are not intended to meet the cost of ongoing expenses.
Discretionary Cost of Living Support Scheme: Powys County Council has agreed additional funding to help its most vulnerable people with the cost of living crisis who may not be eligible within other schemes.
Everyday Needs Grant: Members of the Armed Forces community struggling with their fuel bills can apply for new emergency energy top up grants of up to £200 per month depending on their financial circumstances.
Fuel support scheme: Eligible households can claim a one-off £200 cash payment from Powys County Council. The money is to provide support towards paying fuel bills. This is in addition to the winter fuel payment offered by the UK Government. Some households may be entitled to a one-off £150 cash payment if using off-grid fuel.

Wales Fuel Support Scheme: Welsh Government support for households to help with the pressures of living costs.
Warm Home Discount Scheme: You could get £150 off your electricity bill for winter 2022 to 2023 under the Warm Home Discount Scheme.
Winter Fuel Payment: If you were born on or before 25 September 1956 you could get between £250 and £600 to help you pay your heating bills. This is known as a 'Winter Fuel Payment'.
UK Government's Energy Bills Support Scheme: The Energy Bills Support Scheme provides a £400 non-repayable discount to eligible households to help with their energy bills over winter 2022 to 2023.
