Building Standards and compliance

As part of the Powys County Council New-build Design Guide, consideration is taken using the following standards, for affordable, social-rented Council homes.

The Development Quality Requirements is a Welsh Government standard for new and refurbished homes owned by Local Authorities and Housing Associations.

The Welsh Housing Quality Standard is a policy enacted by the Welsh Government, which sets a minimum standard for the quality of housing stock owned by Local Authorities and Housing Associations. The deadline for achieving the WHQS was the end of December 2020.
