Book a time slot for your visit
The booking system will start on 1 April 2025. From this time anyone wanting to use a Household Recycling Centres will need to book a slot before visiting. You will be able to book your first time slot from 25 March 2025.
A booking system for the Household Recycling Centres has been introduced to:
- reduce congestion and queuing times
- to make visits easier and less time consuming
- to allow staff more time to help visitors who may need advice and/or assistance on site
Simply follow the online instructions to book a time slot at your chosen Household Recycling Centre. You will need to provide your name, address, email address and the registration number of the vehicle you will be using for your visit.

You can book a time slot up to seven days in advance. However, if there is availability, you may be able to book a time slot for today.
The first bookings can be made from 25 March 2025.
Things to remember before your visit:
- Wherever possible, please make use of the weekly kerbside recycling collections for:
- Plastics, cans and cartons
- Paper and card
- Glass bottles and jars
- Food
- Consider whether your unwanted items could have a second life? Find out more about choose to reuse.
- From 1 April 2025, you will need to pay to take DIY waste to the Household Recycling Centres. You can find out more on our DIY waste charges information page. If you are planning a house clearance or a large building/DIY project, hiring a skip from a reputable waste company would be more appropriate
- If you drive a commercial type vehicle or intend on using a trailer for your visit? You may need a Commercial Vehicle or Trailer (CVT) Permit. You can find out more on our Commercial Vehicle or Trailer (CVT) Permits page.
- Before arriving at the Household Recycling Centre, all materials must be separated ready to be recycled correctly in the correct containers.
- Any bags or boxes of mixed, unsorted materials will be refused.
- Items bought to the centre must be recycled correctly. Throwing anything away in the residual/general rubbish skips must be a last resort and only used for non-recyclable items.
- If you are unsure in which containers to recycle your items in at the Household Recycling Centre, please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help.
- Please wear suitable clothing and footwear when visiting the Household Recycling Centre.
- Children and pets must remain in vehicles at all times.
- We cannot accept any waste or recycling from non-household sources (business or organisations) at any of the Household Recycling Centres. For details of how to legally dispose of commercial waste, please contact Powys Commercial Recycling.
