Scam Telephone Calls

We have been informed that some tenants have been receiving telephone calls from people saying that they are calling from Powys regarding damp.

Please note, that if we are ringing you - you will see 01597 826000 on your phone screen. 

If you are in any doubt, put the phone down and call the Housing One Number on 01597 827464 to check.  Do not give out any personal or bank details.

Cold Callers

We have been made aware that some tenants are being approached about having solar panels fitted or about having their homes made more energy efficient. 

If the Housing Service is installing solar panels to your home or is involved in any energy efficiency improvements, you will be contacted and explained certain processes that will be carried out by Powys County Council Officers.   You will never be asked to provide any bank details.

Repairs Calls to Council Tenants

We have been informed that some tenants are receiving telephone calls from companies saying that they need to do work to their Council house.

Please remember that all of your repairs are carried out by Powys Repairs and their approved contractors.

If you receive a telephone call and you are not expecting any repairs to be carried out, please request the company name and a contact number so that you can ring the Housing Service on 01597 827464 to check.

Also, if you receive a visit but you are not expecting any repairs, please ask for an identification card (ID) so that you can ring the Housing One Number to check.

Our workers and contractors will not mind waiting whilst you make a call.
