Powys County Council's tourism service has a dual role in delivering the visitor marketing priorities of the Council to target key visitor groups, alongside supporting the ongoing development of the tourism sector in Powys, in particular working to support businesses and communities which provide services to visitors.
The key priorities of the tourism service are:
- Visitor Marketing - digital and traditional methods, including the Mid Wales My Way website and social media platforms, Mid Wales visitor guide, events and exhibitions to raise awareness of Powys as a key visitor destination in Wales.
- Destination Management - support for the four destination areas in Powys - Brecon Beacons, Cambrian Mountains, Dyfi Biosphere, Mid and North Powys.
- Powys Events - a dual approach which involves the active promotion of the wide range of iconic events held in Powys, and working with The Welsh Government and other partners to attract major events to use Powys as a base.
