You can apply 90 days before your child's third birthday. If you apply earlier than this your application will not be reviewed.
One lead parent needs to complete the application, even if you have shared custody of the child.
Please note the application form does time out. Please complete it in one go, it is not possible to save it and come back to it at a later point.
You are required to provide the following evidence in order to prove your eligibility for the offer:
birth certificate (long version) or
birth certificate (short version) with proof of parental responsibility
Proof of address - Council Tax Bill or a utility bill
Three months' pay slips. If you have recently started a new job and cannot provide 3 months' worth of wage slips, please provide a copy of your new employment contract. The Childcare Unit may contact you for wage slips to support your contract at a later date. (If you are a parent in education please follow the guidance below)

Parents in education or training
Parents in education or training can prove their eligibility by providing evidence of formal enrolment on a relevant Higher Education or Further Education course.
Or
Where a parent has applied and been offered a place on relevant Higher Education or Further Education course, but has not yet been able to enrol, they should provide evidence of a formal offer of a course place.
Your application will be processed much faster if you are able to attach your evidence to the application.
Self-employed parents:
If you are self-employed please provide a copy of your most recent self-assessment Tax return form
If you are a relatively new self-employed person you will be required to provide proof of your Unique Tax Reference number from the HMRC. You will also be required to provide a projection of your income for the first year
