Household Waste Recycling Centres

Brecon Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed for refurbishment from 16 November 2023 for approximately three-months.
The refurbishment to the recycling centre will include new, safer hardstanding across the site, upgraded drainage, an improved one-way system with easier access and safer parking area, and a dedicated area for leaving items for re-use.

Important notice on Mixed Waste: In order to ensure that we maximise recycling at our Household Waste Recycling Centres the Council operates a 'no mixed waste' policy. This means that residents are required to sort their waste before visiting the sites, removing all recyclable material. Any resident bringing mixed waste to the recycling centres will be asked to sort this on site by site staff.
If you're bringing excess residual waste from a missed kerbside collection, please remember that lots more materials such as plastic film and electricals, can be recycled at the HWRCs than through your weekly kerbside recycling collection. These items must also be sorted into the different recycling containers on site and not included in any residual rubbish bags.
